Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services: We provide all basic wellness screening through our office.
Surgical Services: Many of our surgeries are done by our doctors at the New Haven Central Hospital for Veterinary Medicine. Some of the more minor procedures are done in the office. We can discuss the options with you when scheduling your pet's procedure. We can also refer you to a board certified veterinary surgeon if your pet needs a specialized surgery.
Anesthesia: We utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide that extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high risk patients. Using the most modern equipment, the patient's vital signs are monitored during all anesthetic procedures.
Radiology Services: Our radiology, ultrasound and EKG services are provided by board certified specialists through the New Haven Central Hospital.
Laboratory: Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis and parasite testing. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.
Pharmacy: We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet.
Dentistry: Our dental services include teeth cleaning and polishing, dental X-rays, tooth extractions and oral surgery. We can also refer you to a board certified veterinary dentist if we feel that you pet would benefit from advanced dental care.
Dietary Counseling: We will provide guidance regarding your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance and performance.
Behavioral Counseling: We can provide advice regarding the correction of problems such as excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling and aggression. Dr. Johnson is now providing private behavior counseling and training. She may refer you to a board certified veterinary behaviorist if she feels it is necessary.
Specialists: We do have specialists who we can refer you and your pet to if we feel it is necessary. This would include oncology, ophthalmology, cardiology, and dermatology.
Microchipping: We offer the Home Again Microchip.
Emergency Care: Please call our main telephone number after hours to have one of our doctors paged for advice. Our small animal emergencies requiring immediate care are referred to the New Haven Central Hospital, 843 State St., New Haven. The phone number for Central is 203-865-0878. Dr. McClure Brinton and Dr. Ermilio cover large animal emergencies for their patients.
